  • A six-kilometer tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)

Stations

  • Job Description
  • The Draftsman for Methods plays a key role in the Methods and Temporary Works team for supporting the Ontario Transit Group’s underground construction activities. This role produces high-quality drawings that illustrate sequences, define the temporary works, and the interfaces between civil works, SEM excavation, TBM tunneling, and subsequent MEP and architectural installations.
  • The Draftsman helps ensure constructability, alignment of multiple disciplines through accurate, coordinated drawings and safe planning, by engineering and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce clear, technically accurate 2D/3D drawings.
  • Prepare the site installations drawings and keep them updated as per the site progress and needs related to new activities.
  • Prepare interface drawings that illustrate the coordination requirements between Civil, SEM and TBM works, and then MEP and architectural installations.
  • Prepare multi-discipline coordination drawings, ensuring alignment of geometry, access requirements, and construction sequence constraints.
  • Incorporate information from design, BIM, survey, and construction teams to maintain full cross-discipline consistency.
  • Study and prepare the sequence for dismantling the temporary works structure.
  • Qualifications
  • Relevant design experience in structural or civil engineering, ideally on infrastructure, tunneling, or heavy civil projects.
  • Knowledge of structural behavior and temporary works systems (formwork, scaffolding, steel platforms, TBM-related structures, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revi required.
  • Strong team spirit, organized, rigorous, and detail-oriented, with a commitment to safety and constructability in all designs.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, able to anticipate challenges and deliver practical, safe, and cost-effective solutions.
