Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Dusty. Outdoors. Work setting: Rural area. Tasks: Determine materials required. Lay out reference points and patterns. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently. Study engineering drawings and blueprints. Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine material requirements. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures. Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines. Construct patterns and templates. Install fabricated components in final product. Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite. Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes and presses. Cutting torches. Drills. Grinder. Shears. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Excellent oral communication. Initiative. Organized. Reliability. Team player. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
