In this role, you will support Enbridge’s New Energy Technology (NET) strategy by supporting projects and developing technical standards to advance the energy transition. What Will You Do: Lead the safe and reliable design of NET assets by providing technical expertise during the engineering, construction, and commissioning phases of projects. Oversee the development of specifications and standards for all stages of the asset lifecycle including the design, construction, commissioning, operating, and integrity management for NET related fluids. Develop technical expertise in the field of CO2, H2, and renewable natural gas while providing guidance on mechanical assets such as compression, piping, valves, measurement, and analyzer equipment. Coordinate the development and rollout of new training programs to ensure operational readiness for NET assets. Support business and project development teams by performing technical due diligence on new technologies and engineering assessments. Proactively coordinate inputs from internal partners and consultants to ensure clear alignment to business objectives as well as accurate cost and schedule estimates. Perform engineering analysis and fitness for service assessments to support the redeployment of facility assets for CO2 or H2 service. Who You Are: Degree in Mechanical Engineering-related subject area plus 7 or more years of proven experience. P Eng designation in Canada. P E designation or the ability to be registered as a P E in the US. Experience in petrochemical, pipeline, or related industrial processing industries. Previous CO2 and H2 pipeline experience is an asset. Familiar with various management, information, technical systems, and processes applicable to the pipeline industry. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, able to successfully lead colleagues through exciting and multifaceted work environments. Valid passport to work and travel in Canada and the US. Working Conditions: Office based role. 10-20% of travel to other Enbridge office and field locations.
