- We are looking for an experienced Material Handling Lead Hand to join our growing team! Reporting to the Material Handling Supervisor, this position will be the first point of contact for Material Handlers.
- This is a AM Shift position with the hours being Monday through Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm.
- Coordinate team, including daily organization of employee tasks and training of new employees.
- Coordinating all inbound and outbound loads and ensuring they are received and accurately recorded in the ERP (Syspro) , or booked with preferred carriers and all quality control standards are adhered to.
- Coordinating with QC for all inbound QC checks
- Invoicing of all outbound orders
- Understand shipping and receiving deliverables, targets and key performance indicators and drive team to successfully achieve targets
- Demonstrate a solution-based mindset and proactively communicate issues requiring escalation to prevent or minimize impact on customers.
- Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse
- Lead, manage and accountable to support lean and continuous improvements.
- Lead by example and encourage other employees to do the same, enforce company policies and procedures as required
- Suggest and implement measures to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Coach, mentor, train, and support employees to promote a high-performing team.
What we are looking for in a successful candidate
- 1-2 years’ work experience in a similar role in a material handling environment or logistics.
- Desire to train and lead people
- Detailed, energetic and self motivated
- Has a “safety first” mindset and understands the importance of upholding safety standards.
- Computer skills and competencies required
- Calm demeanour and strong problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees and Material Handler supervisor.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to change.
