Position Overview: We are seeking a forward-thinking Tax Manager, Indirect Tax to address all aspects of indirect tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions and to participate in providing advice to business partners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about and have experience leveraging technology, automation, data analytics and ERP systems to optimize the Tax functions’ operations. What You'll Do: Address indirect tax compliance and reporting processes across federal, state, local and international jurisdictions; Drive process improvements, in particular in areas of key responsibilities, through automation, ERP integration and technology tools; Collaborate with IT and Finance teams to ensure that system (including ERP) data relevant for tax reporting and decision making is accurate; Stay current with evolving indirect tax laws and regulatory changes, identify the potential impact of any such changes on technology and business operations and work with cross-functional teams to implement changes that may be necessary to address / comply with such changes; Support indirect tax audits and/or enquiries, including correspondence with third party financial statement auditors and various tax authorities, and ensure readiness through maintenance of robust documentation and process and system controls; Mentor colleagues within and outside of the Tax group in both tax technical and technology-related competencies; Identify and present technology strategies to Tax team leadership; and Ad hoc matters as assigned from time to time. Let's Talk About You: 4–8 years of experience in an (in)direct tax role, with demonstrated experience / involvement in a tax technology and/or a technology transformation project(s); Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills; Experience with indirect tax compliance tools (e.g., Avalara, OneSource, Vertex, etc.), ERP systems (e.g., MS Dynamics 365, etc.) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Shopify, etc.) is an asset; and Professional accounting and/or law designation and/or post secondary specialization (diploma, certificate, licence, etc.) in tax and/or relevant technology is an asset.
