About
I’m looking for a skilled video editor and visual storyteller to help bring my long-form video essays to life. I run a YouTube channel focused on philosophy, producing 20–30 minute documentary-style essays. Each video is built on a pre-recorded voice-over and sound mix, and your job is to craft a cinematic visual narrative using stock footage, found clips and images, and realistic 4K generative AI sequences. This is not a YouTube automation channel — I’m looking for an editor who can bring taste, depth, and artistry to the work. What you’ll do: • Curate compelling footage (stock libraries, archives, films, found clips, images) that matches the tone and ideas in the narration • Generate and integrate realistic AI video with tools like MidJourney, Kling, or Seedance • Edit everything into a cohesive, engaging 20–30 minute piece with strong pacing and rhythm • Use supplied text templates (mogrts), transitions, and occasional subtle effects to support the story What I’m looking for: • Strong storytelling instincts and editorial judgment • Familiarity with film grammar and documentary pacing • Ability to source rights-cleared or royalty-free footage • Experience with generative AI video tools, and the ability to blend AI seamlessly into the visual narrative • Independence, reliability, and respect for deadlines • Curiosity and a personal interest in philosophy, science, or culture How to Apply Send me the best YouTube video you’ve ever produced that demonstrates your storytelling and editing abilities. Please also include your rate for creating a 20–30 minute video. I’m looking for a long-term collaborator (multiple videos per month), with a per-video rate to be agreed after a first test edit.
