Sound Connections Literacy and Language Centre, is looking for an exceptional instructor to work with children and their families. All children have sessions one-on-one. Our programs involve structured, multi-sensory literacy in line with the science of reading.

This position will begin part-time but could likely grow to a full-time position. It is our preference to take an applicant who ultimately is willing to work CONSISTENTLY about 6-7 hours, 5 days a week. This must include evenings and at least 6-7 hours on the weekend. To begin, we are only considering applicants who have flexibility in their schedules. We are looking for a long-term commitment due to the amount of training required. This Literacy Instructor position is mainly in person and could be partly on-line services.

For this position, we require a caring and committed applicant with exceptional spoken and written communication skills. Applicants must be fun, energetic, and able to engage students. It is also important to work confidently and professionally with parents, showing tremendous empathy. Applicants must be qualified or on route to a relevant qualification such as an Educational Assistant, a Bachelor of Psychology, Speech Sciences, Child Studies, Education, etc. Full training is provided, and programs must be strictly followed. Ideally the candidate will be experienced in working with children who have a range of needs, but this is not always required if your personality will carry you through.

Your own transport will be necessary because it is likely that you will be in multiple locations.
