- Our current Structural team based in Vancouver comes from a diverse background and is involved in a broad range of markets. We provide services for large scale developments to small temporary works projects, working with developers, contractors, equipment suppliers, and building owners/operators. Our team prides itself on taking on new challenges that others will not. Using our depth of knowledge and experience, we are able draw on expertise across Canada to find best practice solutions in varying regions and construction types.
- CIMA+ is seeking a dynamic and driven Structural Engineer to join our Buildings team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who not only excels in technical design and project delivery, but also has a strong interest in developing client relationships, growing a business, and shaping their own professional brand. For the right candidate, this role offers a pathway to leadership and potential ownership within the firm.
- Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the design of building structures using a range of materials including mass timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.
- Deliver projects across new construction, seismic retrofits, additions, and tenant improvements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative, buildable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Engage with clients, pursue new opportunities, and help grow our presence in your region.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and entrepreneurship.
- Work with the project team from conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to completion
- Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationships.
- Champion a culture of client service excellence and team collaboration.

- Qualifications
- Licensed P.Eng. (or eligibility for licensure) in a Canadian province.
- 12+ years of experience in structural engineering for buildings.
- Strong technical skills in design and analysis, with proficiency in relevant software.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in business development and client engagement.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Desire to grow into a leadership role with potential for ownership.
- StructEng designation with EGBC is an asset
- Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to none.
- The expected salary for this position is from $130,000 to $160,000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
