This patient-friendly facility offers a variety of primary care, emergency care and specialty services along with Lifestyles, a medically based fitness program and facility. As a Kidstyles Attendant, you will supervise children ages six weeks to 12 years old in the Kidstyles area, but parent(s) and/or guardian(s) must remain on the Health & Wellness Center property while children are in your care. Attendants are responsible for organizing and conducting activities in Kidstyles, on the Rock Wall, or special programs, such as camps, parties, rentals, gymnasium activities, and holiday events. This is an excellent opportunity to interact with the community while having fun every day. A caregiver in this position works varying shifts. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Organize and conduct activities in Kidstyles, on the rock wall and/or special programs. Comprehend center and department rules, regulations and policies and enforce them when applicable, including but not limited to policies on dependents, member rules, handwashing, hospital cleanliness procedures, etc. Maintain all required certifications, such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid. Know the center's Emergency Action Plan for accidents and injuries, missing children, fire/tornado safety, etc. and demonstrate that knowledge during in-services and drills. Supervise the KidStyles area, rock-climbing wall or special programs ensuring the safety of each participant. Maintain order and discipline by enforcing rules and regulations and using appropriate behavior management techniques. Interact with participants, utilizing available resources to plan activities that meet their recreational needs and create an atmosphere of fun. Plan activities and prepare the activity area prior to program/event/shift start. Perform daily duties including accurate record keeping, monetary transactions, implementation of activities, daily/weekly cleaning duties, and equipment and supply care. Follow closing duty procedures ensuring that all equipment and supplies are wiped down and/or put away in their proper place, sign in and statistical reports are turned in and the room is clean and neat for future use. Promote the department's programs and services by establishing relationships with children and their families who frequent LifeStyles in order to generate maximum participation in KidStyles, on the Rock Wall and in special programs throughout the facility. Attend and positively contribute to all mandatory meetings and in-services. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid certifications Ability to work varying hours Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High school diploma/GED Coaching, playground and/or recreational experience.
