About
- DRW is a diversified trading firm with over 3 decades of experience bringing sophisticated technology and exceptional people together to operate in markets around the world. We value autonomy and the ability to quickly pivot to capture opportunities, so we operate using our own capital and trading at our own risk.
- Headquartered in Chicago with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, we trade a variety of asset classes including Fixed Income, ETFs, Equities, FX, Commodities and Energy across all major global markets. We have also leveraged our expertise and technology to expand into three non-traditional strategies: real estate, venture capital and cryptoassets.
- We operate with respect, curiosity and open minds. The people who thrive here share our belief that it’s not just what we do that matters–it's how we do it. DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.
About the Role
- We’re looking for a sharp, curious thinker to help develop and refine trade and market strategies through the lens of geopolitics, policy, and language. You’ll work closely with a small team analyzing international developments, political narratives, and news flow to identify actionable insights shaping global markets.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor and interpret global political, economic, and policy developments in real time.
- Analyze official statements, diplomatic language, and media framing to assess strategic implications.
- Contribute to tactical notes that inform trading or investment positioning.
- Develop models or frameworks to quantify linguistic or policy-driven risk.
- Collaborate across research, strategy, and data teams to convert qualitative signals into structured insights.
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Political Science, International Relations, Mathematics, Science or related fields.
- Familiarity with programming is a plus.
- Deep interest in geopolitics, discourse analysis, or narrative interpretation.
- Strong reading, synthesis, and writing skills, especially in distilling complex materials quickly.
- Creative and intellectually flexible—able to move from qualitative analysis to practical strategy formation.
- Finance background not required—we value insight, pattern recognition, and sharp reasoning over Wall Street experience.
Why Join Us
- You’ll join a team that thrives on decoding the intersection of politics, language, and markets. This is a unique opportunity to apply linguistic and geopolitical thinking to high-impact strategic research with real-world urgency.
