Are you a seasoned Project Manager with a proven track record of leading complex, technology-enabled projects? We are seeking an experienced professional to manage critical initiatives within a federal government department. This long-term contract offers a unique opportunity to contribute to major business transformation and technology modernization projects that directly support Canada's national capabilities in science and social sciences. You will have the opportunity to work on critical projects, including the migration of legacy solutions to Microsoft Azure Power Platform and the technical modernization of grants management solutions.

- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including business requirements, risk management plans, and feasibility studies. Conduct analysis of options and identify functional gaps.
- Manage projects from development through implementation and operational startup, ensuring resources are available and that the project is completed within agreed-upon time, cost, and performance parameters.
- Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to solve problems and manage expectations.
- Lead sprint ceremonies, manage day-to-day operational tasks such as change control, schedule management, and risk management. Adapt strategies and documentation to incorporate modern methodologies like Agile.
- Validate business requirements and acceptance tests.
- Formulate solutions for project issues and, when necessary, escalate potential roadblocks to senior management.
- Regularly report on project progress to stakeholders and management.
- Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned.
- Obtain project sign-off from stakeholders
Qualifications
- Valid Reliability level or higher security clearance is required.
- A valid Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) or a relevant university degree is required.
- Strong experience as a Project Manager on technology-enabled projects (preference for leading a large IT enabled project within the public or private sector).
- Extensive experience developing and managing project artifacts and processes.
- Experience developing and delivering project status updates to internal and external stakeholders and senior executives.
- Professional work experience managing projects that follow the Treasury Board project management gating process.
- Experience in establishing and negotiating project deliverables with three or more working groups or stakeholders.
- Experience managing and/or leading projects for IT system updates using an iterative approach, managing product demonstrations, and analyzing user feedback.
