Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Associate to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing inventory levels, optimizing procurement processes, and supporting demand planning activities. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and systems, including ERP platforms, warehouse management systems, and data visualization software. The Inventory Associate will contribute to process improvements, ensure accurate data collection, and support efficient order fulfillment across various channels such as retail, e-commerce, and third-party logistics (3PL). This role is essential for maintaining seamless materials management and supply chain operations within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels using ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and AS400 platforms to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Analyze demand patterns and utilize data mining techniques to forecast future inventory needs accurately.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to source materials efficiently, negotiate with suppliers, and support sourcing strategies.
- Support demand planning processes by analyzing sales trends, merchandising data, and retail management insights.
- Utilize data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI to create reports that inform decision-making on inventory status and process improvements.
- Conduct regular data collection and analysis to identify discrepancies, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Assist in order fulfillment activities for e-commerce channels, retail outlets, and warehouse distribution centers.
- Coordinate with 3PL providers for inventory transfers, shipments, and logistics optimization.
- Support procurement activities by evaluating supplier performance and assisting in sourcing initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, procurement activities, and related documentation for audit purposes.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing warehouse distribution efficiency and materials management workflows.
- Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment as needed following safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, data mining, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (including SAP or similar platforms), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS400, SQL databases, and Power BI for reporting purposes.
- Knowledge of demand planning, procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supply chain management principles.
- Familiarity with retail management systems, merchandising practices, order fulfillment processes, and e-commerce logistics.
- Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers or vendors to optimize costs and delivery terms.
- Ability to interpret complex data sets for process improvement opportunities using analysis skills.
- Experience with materials management techniques including inventory control, forecasting accuracy, and process optimization.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts while adhering to safety standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments including purchasing, logistics, retail teams, and external partners.
