Experience with HVAC, fire protection and/or plumbing buildings systems design and mechanical engineering would be considered an asset. Registered (or eligible to register) as an EIT or P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). A professional accreditation/P.Eng in another Canadian province would be considered an asset. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP is required; experience with 3D design tools (ACC, BIM360) and MicroStation is an asset. Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as applicable codes (Ontario Building Code, Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, ASHRAE) would be considered an asset. Strong knowledge of TSSA Fuel & Pressure Vessel codes and industrial ventilation along with expertise in relevant ASME and CSA codes is a must. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments effectively. Knowledge of automotive and/or manufacturing processes, along with other industrial processes or systems (eg: heavy crane design, rail sanding systems, etc) would be considered an asset. Knowledge of process controls systems and/or PLC based controller logic and system architecture would be considered an asset. Experience with Building Automation Systems and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions (SCADA) systems would be considered an asset. Knowledge of mechanical buildings systems designs is critical as the successful candidate will be expected to interact closely with the mechanical design team providing input, feedback and direction on process system integration.
