Are you a safety-focused, certified Journeyperson Electrician with expertise in industrial environments and a passion for environmental protection? Randstad, a global leader in talent solutions, is actively seeking a highly skilled Electrician for a critical temporary contract role supporting the Liquid Waste Services Department in the Metro Vancouver area. This is a unique opportunity to apply your technical electrical expertise to essential public infrastructure at the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant and other facilities, including Burnaby.

Responsibilities
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and complex equipment
• Perform fabrication, wiring, and installation of control systems, solid-state components, motors, lighting, and low, medium, and high voltage power equipment.
• Execute work planning, including purchasing materials for jobs and determining the optimal work approach.
• Prepare detailed sketches and update technical drawings and blueprints to maintain accurate records.
• Provide support to the supervisor with cost estimating and scheduling of electrical maintenance work.
• Submit comprehensive work progress reports on time and accurately.
• Assist in the training and mentorship of apprentice Electricians to develop the future workforce.
Qualifications
• Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Possess a valid BC (or Interprovincial) Trade Qualification Certificate as a Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal is an asset).
• Ability to provide and use your own standard hand tools required for electrical maintenance.
• Experience working in a heavy industrial, municipal, or utility environment is highly desirable.
• Proven expertise in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in a heavy industrial or municipal setting, preferably within Wastewater Services.
• Strong knowledge of motors, controls, pneumatics, electronics, solid-state (hydraulics) controls, and computer interface systems.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills for self-managing work and materials sourcing.
• Safety-focused approach to all tasks, with a strong understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for report writing and team collaboration.
• Basic draughting skills for preparing sketches and updating facility prints.
