About
We are an international couple currently living in Australia and are seeking a specialized immigration lawyer to provide a short consultation regarding our migration options related to business ownership. Our situation: • Person A: Canadian citizen currently in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417), valid until January. Did not complete the 88 days of specified work. • Person B: Mexican citizen on a Student Visa, currently studying in Australia. Our plan: • We are in a relationship and planning to purchase an Australian business with a turnover of over AUD $200,000. • Our aim is to apply for the Small Business Owner (SBO) visa pathway under Queensland’s nomination program. • The intended approach is for Person A to become a partner on Person B’s Student Visa and both of us to work within visa conditions (up to 48 hours per fortnight) while meeting requirements for the SBO pathway. • We need advice on whether this migration pathway is viable for our circumstances and what steps we would need to take. What we’re looking for: • An experienced immigration lawyer/agent specializing in Queensland State migration requirements. • Someone who can clearly explain whether this plan is achievable, and if so, how we should structure it. • This is for an initial consultation only. We are not yet ready to lodge any applications until we confirm feasibility. If you are experienced in business migration pathways, please apply and outline your experience with similar cases.
