The Grain Operations Supervisor will lead the grain receiving department in the receiving and storage of inbound oats as well as load outbound rail cars. Strong collaboration with Milling and Quality Departments is required to meet key performance targets. This position will be reporting to the Grain Operations Manager. This position combines supervisory responsibilities with hands-on participation in daily activities, fostering collaboration and efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the daily operation of the elevator facility, including in-bound oats delivery schedules, grading and inventory management.
  • Daily coordination with milling department to provide key grading parameters on transfers to the mill.
  • Assist with managing regular maintenance of grain handling equipment.
  • Create and maintain customer loyalty by demonstrating integrity, service, market knowledge and professionalism in all dealings with farmers
  • Exposure to contracts and purchasing and logistics
  • Effectively utilize staff during seasonal delivery periods to assist with overall plant objectives.
  • Implement, enforce, and monitor corporate safety, health and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Promote safety at all times.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the operation of a grain elevator
  • Strong desire to learn, develop professionally, and grow within the organization
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Railway experience is an asset
