Description:
We are currently hiring Glycol Heat Tracing (GHT) craft workers of any level for upcoming work in the Wood Buffalo area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing team. We welcome applications from both local residents and those open to travel.
About the Role:
Glycol Heat Tracing (GHT) is a specialized craft used to prevent freezing and maintain process temperatures in industrial piping systems, particularly in cold climates. As part of the team, GHT craft workers will install, test, repair, and maintain glycol heat tracing systems on industrial sites such as oil sands facilities, refineries, and plants.
Key Details:
- Base rate of $49.83/hour
- All levels of experience considered
- Local and Camp positions available. Camp positions receive $350 travel per rotation
Helpful Experience and Skills:
- Previous experience with glycol heat tracing systems or other industrial heat tracing methods
- Swagelok certification
- Familiarity with piping systems, insulation, and fluid flow
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and isometric diagrams
- Knowledge of mechanical and pipefitting tools and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Experience in industrial or construction settings (oil and gas or energy sectors is an asset)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials and equipment as part of installation tasks
