  • We are looking for an experienced GIS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and analyzing geospatial data to support a wide range of projects. You will work closely with engineers, planners, and project managers to provide high-quality mapping and spatial analysis that supports decision-making and project delivery.
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in our hybrid work model, offering flexible work hours and a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration in our Mississauga, Bowmanville or Kitchener offices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases, applications, and spatial datasets.
  • Create detailed maps, figures, and spatial visualizations for reports and presentations.
  • Perform spatial analyses to support planning and design activities for infrastructure and transportation projects.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company and client standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate GIS data with a variety of engineering or environmental datasets.
  • Support field data collection efforts using GPS and mobile GIS technologies.
  • Automate workflows and data processing using scripts or GIS tools (e.g., Python, ModelBuilder).
  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to team members on GIS tools and best practices.
  • Qualifications
  • College diploma in Geographic Information Systems or a bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, database management, and mapping.
  • Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise).
  • Experience with spatial databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
  • Knowledge of data management, cartography, and spatial analysis principles.
  • Familiarity integrating GIS data and tools with other platforms including AutoCAD, InfoWater, HEC-RAS and other engineering modelling and design tools is an asset.
  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
