Fractional CTO / Technical Project Manager Tech Lead (E-Commerce AI Fashion App) About Us We are building a PRODUCTION READY next-generation mobile e-commerce fashion aggregator enhanced with AI and a dating-app-style interface. Our platform integrates global product feeds via third-party APIs, deploys AI models on GPU-as-a-service infrastructure, and serves customers across North America, Europe, and Asia via a multi-region AWS Aurora deployment. We are seeking a Fractional CTO / Tech Lead Project Manager to provide technical leadership, oversee architecture decisions, and ensure we are building a scalable, production-ready product. ⸻ Responsibilities • Technology Leadership & Strategy • Review and refine the current product architecture (microservices within a monolithic structure). • Define long-term technology strategy aligned with business goals and investor expectations. • Evaluate trade-offs in build vs. buy decisions for core platform components. • Architecture & Infrastructure • Oversee AWS infrastructure (Aurora multi-region deployment in Virginia, Stockholm, Singapore). • Ensure best practices in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and global database replication. • Manage integration of third-party services (SERP APIs, Runpod GPU deployment, CapCut video workflows). • Validate security, compliance, and scalability across the stack. • Project Management • Act as a technical project manager, coordinating internal developers and external vendors. • Establish agile workflows, sprint planning, and technical delivery milestones. • Provide executive reporting on technology risks, budget, and delivery timelines. • AI & Data Integration • Oversee deployment and scaling of AI models on GPU services (Runpod or equivalents). • Ensure smooth data ingestion from third-party APIs and maintain data quality across regions. • Collaborate with product and design teams on AI-driven user experience innovation. • Team Enablement • Mentor engineers and guide technical hires. • Build documentation and establish coding/architecture standards. • Act as a bridge between founders, product, and engineering teams. ⸻ Qualifications • Proven experience as CTO, VP of Engineering, or senior technical consultant in a mobile or e-commerce startup. • Strong background in cloud architecture (AWS preferred), particularly Aurora global deployments. • Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling, CI/CD, and scalable microservice architectures. • Familiarity with third-party integrations (APIs, AI model hosting, GPU-as-a-service, video processing). • Understanding of AI/ML productization in production environments. • Excellent project management and cross-team leadership skills. • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution. ⸻ Engagement • Fractional / Consultant role (part-time engagement with flexible hours). • Remote with availability across time zones for global coordination. • Initial 3–6 month engagement with potential for extension or transition to full-time CTO role.
