About
This is an art project for an "eternal" clock. The problem with clocks is that the parts wear down, so my idea was to design a fluidic clock with no valves or other mechanical parts. A fluidyne would power the clock, a fluidic diode could be used ie tesla, and it would trigger a siphon once a day. My idea for rapid prototyping would be waterjet cut glass, a sandwich (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNxR-lEZXoQ). A graduated cylinder could tell time. For the final version, timekeeping ie if it goes fast or slow, could be kept by a gas pressure triggering the siphon. This could be caused by a heated gas at solar noon. We can hammer out a scope of work together, and you could give me the correct price. Do you have sterling/thermoacoustic work experience? Do you have ideas for damping, startup conditions, or frequency sensitivity to temperature/viscosity? How would you quantify expected timing stability ?
