- Inventory Oversight: Help manage and verify parts inventory and maintain secure control over tools and equipment — ensuring efficiency and accountability in every repair.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Working On: The Gears in Motion

- Reporting to the Head Mechanic, you’ll serve as the trusted expert responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of our entire fleet. Every day brings something new, but here’s an overview of what you can expect:

- Advanced Diagnostics: Think of yourself as the detective of the shop. You’ll review work orders, conduct test drives, and use modern diagnostic tools and your mechanical intuition to pinpoint issues with engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering, suspension, and intricate electrical components.

- Comprehensive Repairs & Overhauls: From quick fixes to major scheduled rebuilds, you’ll take charge of maintaining and restoring gas and diesel engines, transmissions, and generators. Your work will include repairs and calibrations on drivetrains, wheel alignments, HVAC, and hydraulic systems.

- Preventive Maintenance Pro: Keep the fleet running at peak performance through regular inspections, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance programs — including monthly full-fleet assessments to minimize downtime.

- Bodywork & Roadside Response: Handle light bodywork such as glass or bumper replacement and assist with roadside service calls to ensure vehicles get back on the road quickly and safely.

- Safety & Compliance Advocate: Maintain an organized and hazard-free workspace, use proper PPE, and accurately complete repair records, inspections, and maintenance logs each day.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a robust background and a passion for high-quality work:

- Journeyman Experience is Key: You must have evidence of prior successful experience as a journeyman automobile and/or truck fleet mechanic and qualify for annual certification as an official inspection mechanic.

- Advanced skills in one or more areas like HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, are a huge plus!

- Completion of high school (or equivalent) is required.

- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to follow oral and written directions.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

- You must possess a valid Driver's License.
