We are launching a comprehensive online directory, listing every business, hotel, restaurant, bar, club, school, and church. Our goal is to create a platform that serves locals and tourists alike, helping them find reputable places quickly and easily. We are looking for an experienced web developer/designer to build the initial website with the potential for a Progressive Web App (PWA) for mobile users. Responsibilities: Design and develop a responsive, user-friendly website for both desktop and mobile. Create a searchable and filterable directory for multiple business categories. Enable listing submissions and basic user reviews/ratings. Ensure SEO-friendly structure for search engines. Implement Google Maps integration for location-based searches. Optionally, configure the site to work as a Progressive Web App for mobile users. Provide guidance on hosting, maintenance, and potential app expansion. Requirements: Proven experience building responsive websites and web apps. Knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Vue.js; or WordPress with custom plugins). Experience with databases and backend functionality (MySQL, Firebase, or similar). Ability to integrate maps, geolocation, and search functionality. Portfolio showcasing directory or listings-based websites. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Nice to Have: Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA). Familiarity with Caribbean tourism and business landscapes. Deliverables: Fully functional responsive website. Directory search and filter functionality. Listing submission and management system.
