Position Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to provide on-site construction oversight for the site extension project. The successful candidate will support the client's team by managing and coordinating electrical construction activities, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and facilitating smooth project execution from preconstruction through to commissioning.
  • The ideal candidate will bring a strong electrical background in utility, hydro, or industrial power systems and proven experience managing construction execution, field coordination, and quality control in live electrical environments.

Duties Include

  • Oversee electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Monitor and document contractor performance, progress, and quality.
  • Coordinate and verify QA/QC inspections, testing, and turnover documentation.
  • Support schedule management, material receiving, and field change control.
  • Review and process RFIs, redlines, and technical clarifications.
  • Participate in daily safety and coordination meetings with the owner and contractors.
  • Ensure work is executed in compliance with LOTO and Standard Protection Code permits.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to construction sequencing, isolation, and safety.
  • Provide technical guidance and liaise with design engineers to resolve field issues.
  • Prepare daily reports, track progress, and contribute to weekly status updates.
  • Working Conditions
  • Camp accommodation (private room, self-catering) provided near site.
  • 10 days on / 4 days off rotation, approximately 11–12 hour workdays.
  • Remote site environment; must be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Journeyperson Electrician, Electrical Technologist, or Engineer with strong construction oversight experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years of field experience in industrial, utility, or hydroelectric projects.
  • Familiar with bus protection systems, switchgear, MCCs, and medium-voltage distribution.
  • Previous experience acting as a Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) or equivalent training.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA, CEC, and standards.
  • Competent in scheduling, document control, and QA/QC procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and protection schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and common project management tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote northern locations.
