We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and driven individual to lead our Assembly Department in the role of Electrical Mechanical Assembler at our Port Colborne, ON facility.
- An electrical-mechanical assembler builds, installs, tests, and repairs products that combine electrical and mechanical components, following blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards. Key responsibilities include physically assembling parts, connecting wiring, performing diagnostic tests, using hand tools and potentially specialized equipment, and maintaining documentation. Strong dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to read technical diagrams are essential skills for success in this role.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to blueprints and specifications
- Assemble materials
- Review work activities with supervisors.
- Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits.
- Pack finished products for shipment.
- Tag components.
- Adjust or repair electrical equipment.
- Correct defects.
- Test product to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Test functional performance.
- Perform manual assembly during the small-scale production of electronic devices used a variety of industrial fields
- Modify electromechanical devices
- Fabricate or modify parts, using shop equipment.
- Populate or modify/replace components on printed circuit board assemblies.
- Clean parts thoroughly.
- Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent,
- 1-3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly,
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Experience using hand tools, soldering, crimping, wire harnessing,
- Ability to demonstrate strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills
- Good listening skills
- Ability to work within a team and individually
- Problem-solving skills are also crucial
- Familiarity with safety protocols like ESD handling.
