- Job Description
- The Document Control Clerk is responsible for managing, tracking, distributing, and organizing project documentation throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This role ensures all project teams have accurate, current information and that documents are stored and maintained in compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
- Receive, log, and distribute incoming and outgoing project documents including drawings, specifications, submittals, and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and organized digital document filing systems.
- Ensure all documents follow established naming conventions and version control processes.
- Track document revisions and ensure that only the latest versions are being used on-site and in project databases.
- Upload and manage documents in construction management platforms (i.e. BIM 360, SharePoint).
- Support preparation of project binders, turnover packages, and closeout documentation.
- Perform periodic audits of document libraries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare reports, logs, transmittals, and meeting materials as required.
- Qualifications
- Post Secondary education in complimentary field (i.e. Office/Business Administration, Records and Information Management, Construction or Engineering Technology, Quality Management, Project Administration)
- 3+ years of document control experience in construction or engineering
- Familiarity with construction documents, terminology, and workflows
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Experienced in wide range of digital tools including AI, intranets, and Office Suite
- Attention to detail
