The role provides exposure to the business of investment distribution and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of several areas: Distribution Strategy, Institutional, Direct Channel, Structured Solutions, or Internal Sales. The intern will work closely with senior team members to support initiatives that drive sales, strengthen client relationships, and enhance overall business effectiveness.

  • Assist in the execution of strategic initiatives designed to grow and strengthen the distribution business.
  • Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competitors, and client needs.
  • Support the development of sales and marketing materials tailored to different client segments.
  • Partner with distribution teams to track and analyze business performance metrics.
  • Contribute to projects that may include client segmentation, product positioning, pricing, or channel development.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the team, including preparing presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Analyzes data and information to provide subject-matter insights and recommendations.
  • Documents and maintain operational procedures and processes relating to distribution processes.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on business objectives.
  • Completes complex & diverse tasks within given rules/limits and may include handling escalations from other employees.
  • Analyzes issues and determines next steps.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience. However, as part of the BMO campus program, we are looking for motivated University and College students with a strong desire to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - Good.
  • Organization skills - Good.
  • Collaboration & team skills - Good.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - Good.

Salary:

$38,500.00 - $71,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
