Job Description What is the opportunity? As part of the CLAO team, the Director, Regulatory Engagement, Practice Management will be responsible for regulatory remediation plans, supporting the execution and continuous improvement of ECCO risk and control program with co-ownership over the execution and continuous improvement of risk and control methodologies. By leading regulatory remediation portfolios and strengthening ECCO’s methodology frameworks, the Director will ensure comprehensive risk coverage, robust regulatory compliance and enhanced risk transparency. This ensures appropriate identification, assessment, and coverage of the action plans part of the remediation activities across the first line of defense and enhancing our risk management and regulatory compliance capabilities to ensure the bank is well-positioned for future opportunity and sustainable growth. The Director will drive standardization of the remediation activities, support regulatory compliance, provide analytical and advisory insights to key stakeholders, and partner with first, second and third line of defense colleagues, serving as a conduit to ensure program completion. ECCO team will work with ERR and GRMOR, and Senior Management across RBC’s business platforms, functions, and regions, providing oversight and challenge to ensure effective implementation of resiliency and operational risk practices in compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and in alignment with RBC’s risk appetite. What will you do? Provide program and project management capabilities to support ECCO leadership in delivering on key initiatives, with particular focus on regulatory remediation and resolution of key issues. Work with key partners on the overall Risk & Regulatory change plan, providing holistic visibility of change impacts and change management activities. Partner closely with Legal and Compliance to have detail understanding of the regulatory environment & changes impacting 1LOD Business Units. Responsible for the planning, execution and delivery of regulatory portfolios within the ECCO. Develop regulatory status updates and reporting for senior management in ECCO. Provide strategic oversight into remediation approach and execution. Responsible for creation of presentations and ongoing 1LOD regulatory communications to all 1LOD Business Units Partners with key stakeholder, risk owners in 1LODs who are managing remediation activities to ensure that output from remediation activities has traceability back to root causes and regulatory responses and has proper signoff through appropriate governance channels, as necessary Provide leadership and ownership of various remediation initiatives as needed Co-lead the execution refinement and governance of ECCO’s risk identification and control assessment methodologies across 1LODs. Partner with first, second and third line of defense colleagues, serving as a conduit to ensure program completion. Work in a consultative manner with operational and other functional specialists to implement relevant laws, regulations and guidance into bank processes and procedures Responsible for fostering a culture of compliance with existing and pending regulations What do you need to succeed? Must-have Experience in risk management, with a focus on regulatory remediation and non-financial risk categories Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or other related field Knowledge in developing and executing regulatory governance frameworks in a large, complex organization Establish comprehensive status reporting, issue tracking, and coordination of issue validation and closure packages Advanced understanding of internal and external regulatory requirements and standards Analytical skills, with experience in conducting complex risk analyses and thematic reviews Proven ability to influence and advise stakeholders and cross-platform teams Experience supporting regulatory and audit engagements Nice-to-have CPA, CIA, FRM, CFA or other related designations What’s in it for you?
