Are you ready to lead the charge in transforming oncology insights and forecasting at AstraZeneca Canada? As the Director of Insights & Forecasting, you'll spearhead the analytics and forecasting function within Oncology Business Excellence. Your role is pivotal in driving evidence-based decision-making across pre-launch, launch, and inline brands. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set the vision, develop talent, and deliver forecasts that shape financial planning and resource allocation. Represent Canada in regional and global forums, contributing to platform roadmaps and governance. Are you prepared to make a difference? Accountabilities: • Insight strategy and planning: Own the Oncology I&F strategy and annual plan; prioritize portfolios and studies to address critical business questions across indications, lines of therapy, and tumor types, ensuring line-of-sight to brand strategy and financial targets. • Improve forecasting: Validate and **develop** forecasts using patient and demand data; analyze variations and collaborate with Finance. • Launch excellence and competitive intelligence: Anticipate competitive events, evidence readouts, and policy/access shifts; translate into risk/opportunity scenarios and tactical recommendations to optimize launch and inline performance. • Performance measurement and productivity: Define KPIs and build longitudinal dashboards across field effectiveness, omnichannel engagement, and access; partner with Sales and Marketing to identify growth drivers, productivity levers, and resource reallocation opportunities. • Cross functional leadership: Be a part of the representation of Canada in Regional and Global GIA communities of practice and Forecast Councils. • Vendor and budget management: Select and manage strategic research and analytics partners; negotiate statements of work; ensure delivery to time/quality/cost; own and optimize the function’s budget and demonstrate value realization. • People leadership and capability building: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, diverse team; set clear objectives, succession plans, and upskilling pathways (forecasting, storytelling, advanced analytics, compliance); foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and psychological safety. • Compliance, ethics, and privacy: Ensure adherence to AZ policies and Canadian regulatory and privacy requirements, pharmacovigilance reporting, and vendor compliance; implement data/model governance and audit-ready processes. Essential Skills/Experience: • Advanced degree: MBA, MS, MPH, MSc, or PhD in a quantitative, business, or scientific field. • Experience: More than 10 years in pharmaceutical/biotech with considerable oncology experience; established leadership in market intelligence and predictive analytics, involving numerous product launches or indications. • Forecasting expertise: Proficiency in patient-based and demand-based models, scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and triangulation across Canadian data sources (e.g., IQVIA CDH/DDD, SP data, provincial/public datasets). • Canadian market knowledge: Deep understanding of HTA processes, pCPA negotiations, provincial access dynamics, oncology pathways, biomarker/diagnostic integration, and capacity constraints (e.g., infusion services). • Influence and storytelling: Track record of crafting senior stakeholder decisions through clear narratives, visualization, and actionable recommendations. • Leadership and vendor management: Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring talent, managing external partners, and owning budgets. • Data literacy and governance: Familiarity with omnichannel/CRM datasets, dashboarding solutions, and model/data governance; ability to translate advanced analytics outputs into business actions. • Compliance Mindset: Strong dedication to ethics, patient confidentiality, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory obligations in Canada. Desirable Skills/Experience: • Multi-franchise oncology: Experience operating across multiple tumor areas and biomarker-driven launches; rare disease exposure. • Advanced analytics: Applied experience with ML/AI use cases (e.g., patient journey inference, response modeling) and experimentation (test-and-learn). • Tools: Hands-on familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), statistical packages, or forecasting platforms; understanding of responsible AI practices. • Language: Bilingual English/French.
