- About the Role
- We are seeking a senior leader who will represent Advanced Aircrew Academy as the steward of our training content, ensuring it meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational readiness. The Director of Courseware will oversee the design, development, and continuous improvement of courseware for pilots, maintenance, and operational personnel across business aviation. This individual will balance technical precision, regulatory compliance, and instructional innovation to deliver training that elevates safety and keeps operators audit-ready.
- In this role, you will lead a team of instructional designers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), ensuring that every course aligns with FAA regulations, ICAO frameworks, IS-BAO, BASC, and other international standards. You will collaborate with SMEs and regulatory experts to maintain technical accuracy, while applying instructional design principles to ensure content is engaging and effective. Your leadership will directly impact the learning experience and ultimate safety of thousands of aviation professionals and hundreds of thousands passangers worldwide, while strengthening our position as the most trusted aviation training partner.
- What You Excel At
- Regulatory Expertise. Deep knowledge of FAA Parts 91, 125, 135, ICAO frameworks, IS-BAO, BASC, and international aviation regulators.
- Instructional Excellence. Applying ISD, ADDIE, and adult learning principles to design effective training.

- Collaboration. Partnering with SMEs, auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure content supports operational readiness.
- Innovation. Exploring new training methods such as scenario-based learning, microlearning, and AI-enabled delivery.
- Quality Discipline. Balancing speed and efficiency with accuracy, compliance, and customer expectations.
- What You Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in aviation training management, courseware development, or instructional leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Instructional Design, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- ATP or CFI with relevant ratings; business aircraft type ratings preferred.
- Strong track record in business aviation training, including regulatory compliance and audit preparation.
- Experience with LMS platforms, eLearning authoring tools, and content lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to lead remote teams and manage complex projects.
- Exceptional technical writing and project management skills.
- Bonus: Experience with Transport Canada, EASA, or as FAA examiner / IS-BAO auditor.
