We are looking for a Data Science Intern with a strong interest in Data Engineering to help modernize our data pipeline architecture. This role will focus on building production-ready ETL pipelines that move data from MongoDB into Redshift to power analytics across the business. You’ll work closely with Senior Data Engineers and Product & Analytics teams to help replace our legacy ETL setup (IBM StreamSets) with a scalable, AWS-native solution built on MSK (managed Kafka), Lambda, Glue, and related AWS services. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain real experience designing and contributing to enterprise-grade data infrastructure. This role is open to US and Canadian citizens only. What a day in the life looks like: Support the design and development of production-ready ETL pipelines using AWS-native tools. Assist in migrating data movement processes from MongoDB into Amazon Redshift for analytics and reporting. Help analyze and decommission the current IBM StreamSets low-code ETL pipeline. Work with teams to implement a modern architecture using MSK (Managed Kafka), AWS Lambda, AWS Glue and related services. Participate in building data ingestion, transformation, and validation logic. Collaborate with data engineers to ensure pipelines are reliable, scalable, and efficient. Document processes, data flows, and pipeline components. Troubleshoot issues related to data quality, pipeline performance, and integrations. What you bring to the team: Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Interest in Data Engineering, data pipelines, and cloud architectures. Familiarity with Python and common data processing libraries. Basic understanding of databases and data modeling (MongoDB experience is a plus). Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms (coursework or personal projects welcome). Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and ability to collaborate in a fast-moving environment. Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. Bonus Skills (Nice to Have) Experience with any AWS data stack components: Kafka/MSK, Lambda, Glue, S3, Redshift. Coursework or projects involving ETL pipelines or streaming data.
