Responsibilities
The core duties of the Personal Insurance Advisor revolve around client management, sales, and administrative tasks:
Client Management & Consulting: Act as the primary advisor for ongoing client needs, conducting thorough needs assessments, and providing expert recommendations on personal insurance solutions (e.g., home, auto).
Sales & Retention: Actively sell new insurance policies (writing new business) and diligently work to retain the existing book of client business through renewal processes and proactive communication (retention calls).
Policy Administration: Prepare all necessary documentation for insurance carriers, accurately complete client applications, process policy changes, and issue insurance certificates.
Industry Liaison: Communicate effectively with Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss policy guidelines, manage workflow, and stay current on underwriting rules.
Professional Development: Actively participate in training initiatives to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date with industry knowledge.
Qualifications
Education: Completion of a High School Diploma is required; post-secondary education is considered a plus.
Licensing: Must possess a valid insurance license for Newfoundland and Labrador OR demonstrate a strong commitment to promptly obtaining one (all training and associated costs are covered by our client).
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary.
Outstanding customer service skills with proven ability in conflict resolution.
Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities to manage competing priorities successfully.
Strong team orientation and a capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
