Job Requirements
- MATRIX is looking for experienced Crusher Operators to join the team. These positions will be responsible for feeding and operating a Terex crusher to support a mine's construction and quarrying project and site needs, at a remote site near Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut.
Responsibilities
- Ensures health and safety by following company policies & processes and acting in a responsible manner at all times, while on the job.
- Operate the Crusher primarily, and possibly from time-to-time other heavy equipment, including loaders, or rock trucks, to move, load and process earth, rock, gravel or other materials during construction and operations activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Complete shift paperwork as required including FLHAs, equipment inspection sheets and load sheets.
- Perform pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, grease and refill fluids in equipment as required.
- Attend and participate in pre-shift safety meetings.
- Keep equipment cabs clean and orderly.
- Adhere to all safety standards, regulations and rules as applicable.
- Participate in any site-specific training.
- General laborer duties as required.
- Required Knowledge & Experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of Crusher operation experience in a mine site or heavy civil work environment.
- Familiarity with heavy civil and mining construction including loading and hauling.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must have a solid safety background, with a demonstrated past history of working in a strong safety culture, in a busy and dynamic work environment.
- Experience working in a remote mining or industrial environment is required.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing to travel for work
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Physical ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs., Walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shift.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications
- Valid Safety Tickets (First Aid/CPR, TDG, Fall Protection) are highly desired.
- $600-$700 per day, based on a 12 hour day, depending on experience, certifications and skill set.
- This job will be required to fly in and out of the project job site from either Edmonton Alberta, or Yellowknife, NWT.
- There is a travel allowance payable based on the successful candidates point of hire.
- 3 weeks in, 3 weeks out rotation.
