- Job Description
- We are looking for a candidate to fill the North American Licensing manager role within our Compliance function to support regulatory licensing in the United States and Canada, specifically money transmitter licensing in the US, and provincial and federal money transmitter registrations in Canada. This role is ideally suited to candidates who have had exposure to US and/or Canadian money transmission licensing compliance, or those with a legal, audit, or compliance background, and a willingness to grasp the underlying regulatory obligations that shape the licensing compliance program.
- The Compliance and Licensing Manager will work directly with the North American Head of Compliance and coordinate efforts more broadly across the global Compliance and Risk function. This role is responsible for tasks including state money transmitter reporting, federal or provincial regulatory reporting, coordination of state level payments, surety bond management, preparing and submitting state/federal/provincial registration updates and renewals, assisting with regulatory exam management and coordination related to exams amongst various regional and global business units, and other duties within the scope of the North American Compliance function that support state, provincial, or federal licensing, registration, or regulatory obligations.
What you'll do
- Directly manage the Licensing function across North America to ensure US and Canadian money transmission licensing, and related federal, provincial, and state entity licensing, related regulatory reporting, and any other provisions is maintained proactively across the North America OFX Group entities, and .
- Specific duties include, but are not limited to monthly, quarterly, and annual state report submissions, bond maintenance, funds escheatment, general license maintenance, assist during regulatory exams, and maintaining internal records as applicable.
- Support North American regulatory engagements by managing requests for information or documentation across multiple functions and jurisdictions within the OFX group of entities.
- Contribute as a member of the global Compliance function, and work effectively across multi-functional teams to achieve compliance objectives.
- Manage licensing associate(s) and ensure they are appropriately supporting and safeguarding North American licenses held by OFX.
- Ad hoc tasks/projects at Manager’s request.
- Qualifications
What you bring
- 4+ years of experience within audit or the financial services industry, preferably related to US Money Transmitter/Money Service Business entities. A general understanding of the Retail Payments Activtiies Act in Canada, and CFTC derivatives payment compliance experience is also preferred.
- Moderate to Advanced MS Office skillset with focus on excel functionality
- Preferred data analytics, basic to moderate understanding of SQL, or data visualization tools (Google Data Studio).

- The ability to work effectively with cross functional, and globally diverse teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to use a number of Compliance platforms and systems.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate with peers.
- The salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $98,000.00 CAD. Exact salary offered will be dependent on multiple factors including level of experience, job-related knowledge, skills, work location, etc. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a variable bonus and/or commission. As part of the compensation package, benefits are also offered for all full-time roles and part-time roles working a minimum of 24 hours a week.
- We also offer a flexible hybrid working model where employees typically work 1-2 days from either our downtown Edmonton or Toronto office.
