Greater Vancouver Community Services Society (GVCSS) is a non-profit society delivering care and services in the community to support the independence and well-being of the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who require support to retain or regain health and autonomy. We are looking for a Community Living Supervisor with at least two years of supervisor experience.
Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8am -4pm, 40 hr/wk
Location: Vancouver, BC (Exact location will be provided to successful applicants only)
Compensation: starting from $32.49 per hour
Key Duties:
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to program standards, policies, and program guidelines as determined by management.
- In accordance with established intake referral form, assists person served with the development of life skills, including but not limited to, accessing personal hygiene, housekeeping, making, keeping appointments, and interpersonal skills by demonstrating and modeling appropriate actions.
- Ensure that goals of the individual’s program plans are implemented, and evaluated on a continuing basis and that documentation is maintained for everyone.
- Supervises staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback and evaluation, determining training requirements, orienting new staff, and maintaining payroll and attendance records. Resolves staffing problems, including calling in staff to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Liaise with community training programs, medical professionals, PCH and other community support professionals as required. Act as liaison when required for person served and related community services/professionals.
- Adheres to the assigned budget of the program, monitors and authorizes budgeted expenditures and payments. Maintains related records and reports.
- Attend supervisor’s meetings, staff development and in-service training sessions, as determined by management.
- Responsible for adhering to all OHS and SWP in the agency and department.
Qualifications Requirements:
- Post-secondary certificate in a related field
- Completion of a supervisory certificate from a recognized educational institution, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Two years recent related experience
- Current, valid “Emergency Adult Care” First Aid and Cardio-pulmonary certification
- Working knowledge of simple budgets, computers with particular emphasis on word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Competency in written and verbal communication
