Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Restaurant. Tasks: Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items. Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff. Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers. Create new recipes. Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets. Requisition food and kitchen supplies. Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions. Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards. Government programs: Recognized employer. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.). Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: facilitating access to community resources, language training, skills training, etc.). Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
