In partnership with Metrolinx, ACCIONA is playing a key role in the design and construction of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension (ECWE), a 9.2-kilometre westward addition to Toronto’s Line 5 light rail transit network. This major infrastructure project includes seven new stations and installation of rail and systems under a progressive design-build model. Beyond its technical scope, the ECWE project represents a significant investment in sustainable urban mobility, expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 5,800 tonnes annually and eliminate over 6.5 million vehicle trips each year when combined with the full Line 5. Job Description The ideal candidate will have a background in drafting or engineering technology, experience with large infrastructure projects, and proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position. Key Responsibilities: Create drawings based on survey data, including alignment, station, cross sections and topographical map. Work closely with surveyors to interpret and translate field data into accurate representations in CAD software. Import and manage survey, data including point clouds, GIS data, and other geospatial information within the CAD environment. Maintain an organized digital file structure, ensuring all drawings and models are stored and accessible according to project standards. Ensure all CAD drawings are up to date with the latest revisions and survey data. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation to produce drawings and models. Stay updated with the latest developments in CAD technology and suggest improvements to existing workflows and tools. Adhere to the project’s CAD standards and contribute to the development of CAD protocols and best practices. Other duties as related to the role. Required Skills and Competencies Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, geomatics, or a related field. 2+ years of experience as a CAD Drafter, preferably within a civil engineering, surveying, or infrastructure project environment. Proficient in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation. Experience with handling and integrating survey data into CAD drawings. Familiarity with point cloud data processing is a plus.
