About

Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Non-smoking. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Custom cabinet shop. Millwork shop. Residential. Tasks: Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components. Prepare specifications of custom-made cabinets that maximize storage. Instruct apprentices. Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made. Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints. Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics. Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to finished products. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Cabinetmaker Trade Certification. Joiner (Cabinetmaker) Trade Certification. Area of specialization: Cabinets. Built-in units. Furniture. Window sashes. Doors and door frames. Millwork. Furniture and cabinet remodeling. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
