Job Summary

  • This position will assist the/provide public education and enforcement of the City’s by-laws, primarily enforcement of parking by-laws, take field note information and diary, and assist with provision of evidence and testimony at court, as required and provide care to the animals in the City’s Animal Care Facility, as required. Parking enforcement training will be provided (20 hour course).
  • This position will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm (may require some evenings and weekends to cover animal care as needed). Anticipated employment period from May to August 2026.

Position Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Law enforcement training or education an asset
  • First Aid/CPR Certification an asset
  • Math and computer skills required
  • Knowledge and understanding of the City’s By-laws, the Provincial Offences Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act will be considered assets
  • Must possess a valid Class “G” driver’s license
  • Must have CSA approved protective footwear with minimum 5 inches high cut CSA Grade 1 with sole puncture protection.
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and submit a criminal background check and driver’s abstract, at their own expense prior to start date.
  • This position is open to students who are presently attending school on a full-time basis and returning to a recognized post-secondary institution (full-time) in September 2026.
