Job Description I’m the founder of Dawg Pound, a sports-based social networking app focused on real-world connection, community events, and men’s mental health. The app is already largely built using an AI app-building platform, with additional work completed by a previous developer. I’m now looking for an experienced mobile app developer to review, clean up, and complete the build, resolve outstanding issues, and help prepare the app for public launch. This is not a greenfield project — much of the core structure, UI, and features already exist. The right developer will be comfortable stepping into an existing codebase and improving, refining, and finishing what’s already there. Current Status of the App Core app flows and screens are already built App was created using an AI app builder and extended by a prior developer UI/UX mockups and product vision are clearly defined Authentication, profiles, and event-based features exist but need refinement App is intended for iOS and Android Hosting, backend, and basic data structure already exist (details provided to shortlisted candidates) Scope of Work The selected developer will help with: Reviewing and understanding the existing codebase and AI-generated structure Fixing bugs, errors, and broken flows Completing unfinished features and screens Improving performance, reliability, and UX polish Ensuring proper authentication, navigation, and data handling Assisting with deployment readiness (App Store / Play Store requirements) Advising on best practices and future scalability This role may also include light architectural guidance to ensure the app is stable, maintainable, and ready to grow. Ideal Developer Profile Strong experience with mobile app development (React Native, Expo, Flutter, or similar) Comfortable working with AI-generated or low-code / no-code outputs Experienced in taking over and improving existing projects Familiar with backend integrations (APIs, auth, databases) Able to explain technical decisions clearly to a non-technical founder Bonus: experience launching apps to the App Store / Google Play What I’m Looking For Someone practical and solution-oriented Not afraid to say “this needs to be refactored” (and explain why) Can work independently and communicate clearly Interested in a project with long-term potential (future updates and ongoing work likely) Engagement Details Open to hourly or fixed-price proposals (please recommend what makes sense) Will provide: Access to the existing build Documentation, mockups, and product vision Clear feature priorities To Apply, Please Include A brief explanation of your experience with existing or inherited codebases Any experience working with AI-built or low-code apps Your recommended approach for reviewing and completing a project like this Estimated timeline for an initial audit and next steps
