  • About the Role
  • CASA House is a live-in program for teens who need support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges. Teens stay at CASA House for an average of four months. The program involves parents and caregivers as active participants in treatment. Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, social and life skills training, and on-site schooling in small classroom settings.

The Behavioural Specialist will

  • Develop and assist with implementation of individual treatment plans, behavioural plans and/or safety plans for adolescents with internalizing and externalizing difficulties using a variety of treatment approaches with a heavy emphasis on effective, evidence-based cognitive and behavioural principles.
  • Implement models of behavioural analytics to individual, group as well as family therapy.
  • Provide hands on modelling and coaching to family members as determined in conjunction with the MHT and guided by the treatment plan.
  • Assist in group facilitation; co-facilitation or participation, observation and note taking as required.
  • Participate in program planning.
  • Attend and constructively participate in program and clinical team meetings
  • Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social work, education or applied behavioural analysis.
  • Bachelor of arts or bachelor of science with a major in psychology or related field with additional Behavioural Interventionist Certificate of Achievement (BICA) and a minimum of five years of ABA experience may be considered.
  • Behavioural Interventions Certificate of Achievement (BICA).
  • Experience with mood concerns, learning disabilities, executive dysfunction and/or personality disorder traits is preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
