Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of automotive systems. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Test automotive systems and components. Road test motor vehicles . Review work orders . Inspect motor in operation. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification. Area of specialization: Diagnostics. Automatic transmission. Alignment, steering and suspension. Drive train components. Ignition and electrical system. Fuel and emission system. Brake system. Electrical and electronic system. Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years.
