- This leadership position will oversee, develop, and employ various marketing initiatives to achieve our long- and short-term organizational goals. This individual should have a successful track record of establishing and leading marketing strategy and in working cross-functionally to develop and execute pre-launch and launch plans. The ideal candidate has significant expertise launching brands, building brand awareness, and supporting the sales leaders/teams to drive impactful results. Building out the organization’s digital capabilities will be an important responsibility for this role. This is a highly visible role which will lead the marketing efforts for a key product launch in the Canadian portfolio.

Key responsibilities
- This position will directly report to the Senior Director, Commercial Lead Nephrology
Lead the Nephrology Product Launch
- Oversee the marketing and commercial strategy for a Nephrology product, ensuring its successful launch and adoption in the Canadian market. Drive sales growth to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy specifically tailored for the product, addressing the unique needs of the Canadian healthcare landscape.
Omnichannel and Digital Marketing Expertise
- Design and implement omnichannel marketing strategies, leveraging digital platforms, social media, and data-driven insights to maximize engagement and impact.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of success in digital marketing campaigns, including the use of analytics to optimize performance and ROI.
Brand Planning
- Lead the development and execution of the Brand Plan, ensuring alignment with Sobi’s overall commercial strategy and the product’s value proposition.
- Budget Management: Establish and monitor promotional and brand budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
Sales Enablement
- Support sales training initiatives to ensure the team is equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively promote the product.
- Provide input for sales forecasts
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with internal teams to implement brand strategies and tactics; analyze feedback and propose changes or improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional partners to align on Canada-specific strategies and overcome barriers to market entry.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of marketing tactics that align with the overarching strategy.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Collaboratively provide input on data generation plans with medical leadership and translate scientific, clinical, and market research data into actionable strategies, messaging, and tactical plans.
- Market Insights and Trends: Identify opportunities, trends, barriers, and market conditions in the Nephrology space to maximize sales performance and inform strategic decisions.
- Inspire and Lead Teams: Motivate and focus sales teams and cross-functional partners to achieve the commercial aspirations for the product.
- Leadership Communication: Develop and deliver presentations to internal stakeholders (e.g., leadership team) and external audiences, effectively communicating the vision, strategy, and progress of the product launch.
- Qualifications
- 5+ years pharmaceutical industry experience including 3+ years in marketing
- B.Com, BA/BS degree required with a Masters or advanced scientific degree desired
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical marketing with a strong track record of success in product launches, preferably in the rare disease space
- Nephrology experience an asset
- Demonstrated expertise in digital marketing and omnichannel strategies, including campaign development, execution, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and analytics platform
- Familiarity with healthcare professional (HCP) engagement strategies and patient-centric marketing approaches.
- Sales/market research experience an asset
- Sales Training experience an asset
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines
- Strategic capabilities with ability to conceive, develop and implement multidimensional marketing and business plans
- Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities including management of multiple external vendors/agency partners
- Strong communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
- Current working knowledge and experience of Canadian legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines
- Ability to partner with key internal stakeholders to understand Sobi’s key objectives, and to drive marketing plans that achieve or exceed these.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and external vendors, to achieve shared objectives.
