Position Overview
Cygnus Compliance is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Associate to support our regulatory compliance and anti-financial crime initiatives related projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leveraging business intelligence (BI), data analytics, and statistical modeling to enhance Anti-Money Laundering (AML), sanctions, and other regulatory compliance processes. This role requires a strong understanding of data analytics, financial regulations, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Develop and implement BI solutions, data analysis techniques, and data collection strategies to optimize AML, sanctions, and regulatory compliance applications.
- Use SQL, Python, ETL, and visualization tools to create reports and dashboards for senior management, improving compliance process efficiency and performance.
- Conduct data mapping, reconciliation, and quality assessments of financial transactions and banking source data.
- Regulatory Compliance (AML, Sanctions, KYC & Risk Assessment)
- Develop and analyze transaction data patterns using advanced statistical modeling to detect anomalies and potential financial crimes.
- Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to refine and enhance AML and sanctions monitoring.
Process Optimization & Automation
- Develop and optimize SQL stored procedures to improve and validate various compliance systems.
- Automate data workflows and reporting processes to enhance regulatory monitoring and decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement & Project Execution
- Collaborate with internal team member to gather and translate business and data requirements into actionable insights.
- Participate in project status meetings, providing regular updates to project leads.
- Contribute to special projects and internal initiatives, driving innovation and improved compliance methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in data analytics, or a closely related area.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills, with experience in data analytics, BI tools.
- Experience with BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for reporting and dashboard creation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive problem-solver with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Prior experience in financial services, risk management, or compliance consulting is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
