Purpose of the Role

  • We have exciting co-op opportunities within our Asset Management Operations team! This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to a dynamic, client-focused environment.
  • We are seeking a highly motivated student with a commitment to excellence, strong attention to detail, and a passion for private markets (private equity, private debt, infrastructure) to join our Asset Management Operations Team as a Co-op. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management Operations, the co-op student will assist in the implementation of the new Investment Platform (SimCorp, https://www.simcorp.com/), focusing on data migration and testing for private assets. The intern will also work with the SimCorp project leads on onboarding financial and accounting data across various investments and deals within the funds. Additionally, the co-op student will assist the team with special projects aimed at enhancing our Investment Platform.
  • These positions are 8-month co-op terms starting in January 2026 and ending September 2026. These will be hybrid positions based in our Toronto or Vancouver offices.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data Migration: Actively support the data integration and migration from existing systems to SimCorp Dimension using new and existing tools including helping onboard AI tools.
  • Investments/Deals Due Diligence: Support the establishment of complete and accurate records and data integrity of investments/deals in the new Investment Platform.
  • Financial Analysis: Contribute to due diligence on investments, including financial statement analysis and building, reviewing, and analyzing investment/deal metrics in SimCorp.
  • Investment Platform Enhancement: Assist with special projects focusing on the enhancement of our investment platform.
  • Historical Data Compilation: Compile historical qualitative and quantitative financial data and analysis from diverse sources into SimCorp.
  • Workflow Clarification: Assist in clarifying workflows in SimCorp for operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring: Support monitoring, attribution and analysis of investment returns imported into SimCorp.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with portfolio managers and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or discrepancies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of studies in a post-secondary degree or diploma in Finance, Economics or Business.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
