Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Asset Development Professional- Pre FID to support and lead the development of large-scale renewable energy projects from late-stage development through to financial close. This role will suit candidates with varying levels of experience across renewable energy development. The title will be determined based on skills, experience, and capability. You will work on complex, utility‑scale renewable energy projects with significant capital investment and regulatory, grid and commercial interfaces. You will play a key role in progressing projects through critical development milestones, working closely with internal technical, commercial and finance teams, as well as external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead renewable energy projects from pre‑Final Investment Decision (FID) through to financial close Drive and coordinate cross‑functional development workstreams to achieve FID readiness Ensure all permits, approvals, commercial agreements and financing structures are secured and aligned with investment criteria Identify and execute value optimisation opportunities across cost, design, schedule, procurement, contracting, financing and delivery outcomes Prepare and present investment business cases and recommendations to senior leadership, Board and shareholders Lead risk identification and mitigation across regulatory, commercial, technical and market dimensions Oversee negotiations and structuring of key project agreements, including PPAs, grid connection and major contracts Ensure effective handover from development into construction and delivery teams Engage with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects efficiently and compliantly About You You will bring substantial experience in project or asset development within renewable energy, infrastructure or a related sector, along with: Demonstrated experience leading projects through late‑stage development to financial close Strong commercial, financial and strategic capability, with an understanding of bankability requirements Proven ability to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary workstreams Experience navigating planning, permitting and regulatory frameworks Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills Tertiary qualifications in engineering, finance, economics, business or a related discipline MBA or equivalent experience in strategy or business development is desirable To Apply Squadron Energy is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
