Summary We are looking for a Product-Focused AI Leader (US/Canada remote) to help a startup build and scale AI-powered products from MVP to production. This role combines hands-on technical work with product ownership, team leadership, and stakeholder communication. You'll start by contributing to development to learn our systems, but will transition into product design, team management, and client-facing responsibilities. This is a leadership track position for someone who wants to shape the future of an AI product. The Role You'll Grow into: Lead product decisions for AI-powered applications, balancing technical capabilities with user experience Manage and mentor a development through the unique challenges of building AI products Communicate complex AI concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders Own product strategy and roadmap decisions for client projects Navigate the constraints of building with non-deterministic, general AI systems (vs traditional deterministic software) What We're Looking For: AI Passion & Vision: Genuine excitement about AI's future and strong opinions on emerging trends and limitations Product Thinking: Experience balancing technical capabilities with user needs and business requirements Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to build trust, manage teams, drive consensus, and get things done Communication Skills: Can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Startup Mentality: Thrives in ambiguous environments, wears multiple hats, takes ownership Technical Foundation Needed: Experience with LLMs, AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), and AI product development Strong full-stack development skills (TypeScript, React, Node.js, NextJS preferred) Modern AI tooling and workflow optimization experience 60 hours per month with flexible schedule but must be available 9am-11am EST for work with internal and external teams.
