Responsibilities
• Drive new merchant acquisition through a mix of warm leads from agents and strategic cold calling.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with external sales agents who feed new merchant accounts.
• Handle follow-up work for online merchant onboarding forms, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
• Act as a technology and product expert, answering technical questions from sales agents regarding POS system integration and app functionality.
• Cross over into customer support activities, troubleshooting issues and coordinating with relationship managers at partner institutions like Clover.
• Support the launch and expansion of the new AI business, assisting with merchant demos and agent creation.
• Conduct sales demonstrations (virtual and sometimes in-person) for prospective local and national clients.
• Proactively think outside the box, identify areas for improvement, and suggest enhancements for in-house CRM, ticketing systems, and sales packages.
• Contribute to the overall growth strategy, with the flexibility to adapt as the business secures large partnerships.
Qualifications
• Must have previous experience within the payment technology industry (e.g., merchant services, POS systems, processing).
• Proven experience in a direct sales or Account Manager role involving both warm leads and cold calling.
• Entrepreneurial mindset—someone who is naturally proactive, thinks freely, and brings suggestions for business improvement.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks across sales, support, and light administrative duties.
• Ability to work on-site at the office in Etobicoke, ON.
• French is an asset due to the national client base, but professional English fluency is required.
Additional Skills:
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets and manage a full sales cycle.
• Strong organizational skills to manage merchant onboarding forms and follow-up processes.
• Exceptional verbal communication and a clear speaking voice for phone-based sales and support.
